maria

maria is growing up so fast! she's such a funny kid. she's getting to be SO talkative. she's pretty much constantly talking or singing. the last couple days she's been singing all morning - she'll sing songs she knows, make up songs, or sing instead of talking to me, for example, in a sing-songy tone "mom, can i swim in my pool today, in my pool today, in my pool to-DAY?" her currant favorite song is scripture power, but when maria sings it scripture power is the power to IN (not win).

putting her to bed last night was quite a challenge. she just kept talking. i couldn't even get a word in to say good-night! so i just tried talking over her, said goodnight and started to go down the stairs and she said, "wait mom! don't leave yet! i have a question." so i went back to her room. she asked her question, i responded and started to leave. "mom! i have another question!" this went on for some time. finally i just had to leave with her still talking up a storm. i had to go out side to take care of the chickens. she kept yelling at me from her room. "mom, i need you!" "mom, i have a question!" "mom, i need a new diaper!" eventually i went back to her room and she said, "oh, mom, you came up to my room! i'm so proud of you! that was so good. i'm so proud of you! that was so good of you to come!" anyway, it was funny.

about the pictures:

1. the first picture is from this last sunday. we were checking on the chickens before church. maria put her boots on. she looked like such a cute little farmer girl!

2. doesn't she looks so pretty? oh - my little girl is growing up too fast!

3. she loves to play in the pool, or a lake, or the ditch.... pretty much any water she can find. she keeps asking to go to the lake and also to go to grandpa nunnall's beach.

sorry this is such a long post, but i hope you enjoy it anyway.

Wow, she looks so much older since I last saw her! Are you sure she's not 4 or 5, because that's what she looks like in these pictures. I love the farmer girl one--sooooo cute.

Oh, and I decided that even when she can say my name right, I still want her to call me Kibbey. It's the best nickname in the world.
