I love this time of year, but I have a hard time managing the temperature in the house. We like a cool house, around 64-65 degrees, so we open windows at night and run fans to cool things down. However, some nights are a bit too cold this time of year and we end up with temperatures lower than we would like. It is hard to decide. Do I open the windows, how much do I open them, do I run the fans, etc. Sunday night I turned the fans on low, but woke up to only 51.5 degrees. A bit too chilly. I sat on the couch correcting school papers with a scarf around my neck, a glove on my left hand, and a blanket covering everything else. I try to not turn the heat on until after Halloween (a strange tradition) so I toughed it out. The temperature reached 61.5 by the end of the day so it wasn't too bad. Today we are a whopping 62.5, but it is 71 degrees outside so it will be warmer by the time we go to bed. Ahhh, fall, my favorite time of year.

I think I have finally figured out why I am always freezing when we come to your house.....
Denise, I think you would die in Hawaii. It wouldn't even dream of getting as cold as 51 degrees here. I have no idea what the temperature is here. It's just nice all the time.
so funny! i love to sleep with the windows open. my kids always rebel though. you and my mom must be made of the same stock...she doesnt want to turn the heater on either and while i dont know that its tradition...she is pretty anti "bought air" of anykind!
