I just bought this picture for my house and am trying to pick a frame. This picture is from a website that lets you see what your frame looks like with your picture. Pretty cool huh? Anyway, the matting came with the picture so what do you think of this frame?

Do it in black only if the other pictures in the room you would hang it in also have black frames.

You guys are fired from picking colors. Black looks really bad unless you change the mat and then it just looks a little cold. I want to use the mat that came with the picture and so I think I will get a mahogany frame. I think mahogany is daker than the frame in the picture and I think it looks better with the darker frame. Maybe that is what prompted the black suggestion but really, dark brown is SO much better.

I agree, Joseph. That's why I said to only choose black if it matched everything else. Maybe I didn't say that very clearly. Anyway, brown would definitely look better with that mat, no question.

If this is that mat that the picture came with, and if it matches all the other frames in the room where you're planning on hanging the photo, I would suggest matching the thin line (I think it's brown) around the photo. That way your attention is drawn to the picture, instead of to the mat or to the frame. And if you can't match the line exactly, I suggest going with the frame that you have on there. I think it looks fine and doesn't overwhelm the picture.

Bob and I both love that picture! The baby Jesus looks exactly like our son Jace did as a baby. When we first saw the picture we were both shocked because it looked just like him. Anyway, I like the frame, I think it looks nice.
