liberty's smile

finally!  i've caught her smile on camera!  isn't it wonderful?

so apparently liberty is growing like a weed (a really cute weed).  in the ten day period between her check-ups she grew two ounces a day!  she is now over ten pounds.  all her pediatrician could say was "wow!"  she is doing really well and is even starting to sleep better at night.  she's awake and alert a lot more during the day - unfortunately that includes the time right after her four am feeding.

here is a funny fact about hudson:  he has become so accustom to wearing long-sleeve shirts and long pants that if we try to put short anything on he gets really angry!  any time we try to put a short-sleeve shirt on he screams and says, "i don't like it!"  one time he picked out a pair of shorts to wear thinking they were pants.  i just wanted to see what his reaction would be so i helped him put them on.  he cried.  last night i let the kids paint, but when they paint they are required to wear "art shirts" which happen to be short-sleeved.  hudson cried for about five minutes.  he kept trying to pull the sleeves down but had paint on his fingers, so then he'd get angry because he got paint on his arm.  he eventually got over it, but we don't know what's going to happen when the weather gets warmer!  that'll be interesting.  

maria and hudson did have a lot of fun painting, but neither really liked the fact that they were supposed to be finger painting so they used brushes instead.

on a final note, i saw this in the paper the other day and obviously thought of this family.
