Poem Exchange

Elise and I had the following conversation in poem format yesterday over text:

Me:
Woe to me, I'm all alone.
Guys never call me on the phone.
I think I'm awesome...maybe not.
I guess it's just my lifelong lot.

Elise:
To your rhyme I say, absolutely NAY!
Just because they’re not besotted,
Means not that nothing can be plotted.
Your qualities could fill a weighty tome,
Not just a simple rhyming poem.
They’re blinded by your awesomeness,
Therefore their love they can’t confess.
A remedy that I suggest,
Just kiss one—never mind, I jest.

Me:
Why jest ye about the kiss?
Do you think that I will try, and miss?
It just might work, I’ll give it a go.
The worst that may happen is he’ll say no.
I’ll try it tonight, just catch him real quick.
I’ll slide right in all nice and slick.
He may just like it, you never know,
And I'll never know if I don’t give it a go.

Elise:
In a French accent these words are meant:
“Good one”, as said by a silly gent.

Yes, we are that awesome. :) Joseph, Elise, and I are constantly writing silly rhymes to each other. Recently, we've decided to start writing poems that don't rhyme or mean anything, like so many people do. We do it to make fun. What is a poem that doesn't rhyme? A paragraph, I tell you, and nothing more! We think it's funny how people will write a paragraph that means absolutely nothing and doesn't make any sense, and call it a poem--a work of art. Really? I can do that! Anyone can do that! We will favor you with a few examples of our meaningless non-rhyming poems paragraphs soon.
