So, this is the first year that we have had white lights on our Christmas tree. I like it, but I think I am alone in my opinion. Also, we have a different kind of tree. Except for the first year we were married, and I believe one other year, we have had a noble fir tree. We spend a lot of time searching for the perfect tree and always manage to find one. This year we have a balsam tree, but of course it is still the perfect shaped tree. It is like a cross between a grand fir and a noble fir. It is beautiful, but sadly, it doesn't smell. Perhaps this will be a new tradition for us.Mom

Yes on the white lights, no on the Balsam. It looks too much like a Douglas Fir. A bush that doesn't smell like a tree? No, stick with the noble.

i have always been a white lights kind of girl. however mom and dad still have colored lights and it makes me happy. thats how i remember our christmas tree. the same old ornaments the colored lights the string of garland made of whatever!
