toddlers are horrible for self-esteem

maria (while brushing my hair): your hair is getting so long! you look like cinderella.

mom: aww, thanks!

maria: . . .but you're not.

maria (while standing on dad's lap): dad, what happened to your hair?

dad: i got a haircut.

maria (pointing to the crown of dad's head): no, dad. what happened to your hair right here? where'd it go?

maria (while walking behind mom): mom, you have a big bottom, right here, behind you.

maria (while watching mom get ready): mom, you look like a fridge.

Ha, ha, ha! So funny! Yeah, kids don't try to soften anything. Joseph, remember that time you told and old lady, "Your face is really wrinkly!"? I'm sure my kids will comment on the size of my behind, or the zits on my face, or my funny 2nd toes. I guess you just have to be really confident as a parent to overcome the constant blunt comments. I'm still laughing at the princess one. LOL.

I am viewing the blog at the library and it is very hard not to laugh loudly. I remember those days very well. Those funny memories will come in handy on difficult days. Mom
